The Death Baiters
A Soldier is destined to die a sacrificial victim euphemistically celebrated as a hallowed Martyr
His uniform bears no motif; he melts into his unit- faceless, unrecognized even humiliated while living and serving, forgotten quickly by an impatient society.
Providing "Z" category protection to massage the ego of politicians or capitalists friends and their spouses takes priority
Long before the Sun ascends over the mountains, the Jawan would be out of bed at 4:00 am.
For those posted in the relative safety (if something like this still exists in India), away from the perilous border regions, three hours of exhausting physical training is followed by a quick breakfast.
Between lunch and dinner, they imbibe the intricacies of terrain understanding, map reading, undergoing grueling weapon and combat training.
Primitive Tools – Global Power Aspirations
For a country that has dreams of being a super power, the weapons and gear assigned to a soldier compared to other powerful countries are nothing if not classified as primitive.
Compare this to the latest arms and sophisticated high quality protection gears that Chinese or American soldiers would otherwise have at their disposal ensures their soldiers have greater chances of returning back to their families in safety amid gravest of dangers.
Alas! In India, this is not a priority.
Providing “Z” category protection to massage the ego of politicians or capitalists friends and their spouses takes priority.
A Soldier is destined to die a sacrificial victim euphemistically celebrated as a hallowed Martyr.
Death Baiters
A sipahee, Jawan or a soldier is the backbone of India’s projected military might.
Where the armed force is handicapped for lack of funds, outdated arms and ammunition, previous generation gears, a Jawan of Indian army dares punch much above his weight.
Amidst overwhelming political and administrative challenges, daunting operational constraints, a Jawan of an Indian armed force lives under grave peril, sacrificing his family’s well being and property, consistently baiting death.
His uniform bears no motif; he melts into his unit- faceless, unrecognized even humiliated while living and serving
Rajnath Singh had publicly slapped one of a trained soldier assigned to protect him.
Similarly, videos and stories abound of political leaders publicly tasking the soldiers to wipe their shoes, hold umbrella, clean chair etc.)
Their world is restricted to the cantonment, where they are bound by rigorous military systems.
They have to measure up to exacting rules and abide by stringent regulations, bound by archaic traditions and ordered around by martinets as a routine

Armed Forces Up In Arms
For, putting their lives in danger, constantly, it is shocking to note that the military was shortchanged in the seventh Pay commission.

PM Modi More Like Indira Gandhi
Advani and Atal Bihari nurtured BJP had the freedom for its members to voice their opinion
Power is now firmly concentrated in hands of few, deriving their brute undemocratic might from crony capitalists. All institutions are under acute duress
The vice like grip on all institutions is all pervading and fast spreading, so much so that there is a sense of undeclared emergency
Suicide Seeds
Genetically modified seeds are 1000 times more costly than traditional seeds
Seed banks are prohibited to sell "traditional seeds". Farmers across India are forced to buy exorbitantly costlier, imported, patented seeds

अमर कवितायेँ
सूर्यकांत त्रिपाठी "निराला"
गहन है यह अंधकारा
गहन है यह अंधकारा;
स्वार्थ के अवगुंठनों से
हुआ है लुंठन हमारा।
खड़ी है दीवार जड़ की घेरकर,
बोलते है लोग ज्यों मुँह फेरकर
इस गगन में नहीं दिनकर;
